Tips for Homeschoolers

Homeschooling parents and children know that the Internet is one of the best resources for learning. We hope you’ll place WatchKnowLearn among your most trusted, best-used resources.

Here is how homeschooling parents and children can get the most from WatchKnowLearn:
  • More formal or classical homeschoolers, and those doing Unit Studies, might look up a subject in our Directory when planning a unit. This can both help the parent get needed background and be used as material for the student.

  • "Unschoolers" might enjoy browsing the Directory at will. We probably have something about the student’s latest interests, and the Directory can help suggest related topics to explore.

  • Charlotte Mason homeschoolers should note that we have a rich assortment of videos about literature and authors.

  • Homeschooling parents generally might note that both the videos and our Directory have a lot of ideas about topics to cover and how to cover them.

  • Homeschooling parents might also be interested in our "For Teachers and Parents" category, which has quite a few videos about how to teach.

  • One of the advantages of homeschooling is the ability to study non-traditional subjects. We do have videos on some obscure topics. Feel free to add more on your own pet topics!

  • We want to keep WatchKnowLearn family-friendly, but also open and simple enough to grow. If you see anything inappropriate, immediately "flag it" to take it down for review.

  • Unlike public schools, WatchKnowLearn has no policy against religious instruction. You can use the site to collect and organize all manner of videos for educational purposes. Of course, we ask that you accept that others, of a different or no faith, may collect videos about their faith as well.

  • Please pitch in and build this community resource yourself! Our handy bookmarklet makes it easy.

Happy learning!
